Education is the foundation of change.
1 In 5 girls drop out of sport by the age of 14 and just 11% of teenage girls meet the recommended daily activity levels.
We are tackling this head-on.
Through workshops in schools, sports clubs, and businesses, we equip teenagers, parents, coaches, and teachers with the tools and confidence to challenge stereotypes, navigate barriers and keep girls engaged in sport.
One of the biggest reasons girls drop out of sport is because they don’t feel like they belong. We are changing that.
Through our daily content, we are normalising women in sport, showcasing role models and making every girl and woman feels like they belong.
Her Sport has become the voice for girls and women in sport.
Through our advocacy we are influencing decision-makers, shifting public attitudes, and ensuring gender equity is not just an ambition but a reality.
Our advocacy must be backed by action. Through research and data collection, we highlight the deep-rooted inequalities in sport—whether it's the lack of media coverage, the financial barriers female athletes face, or the health benefits of keeping girls in sport. This research fuels our work, ensuring every initiative is impactful, strategic, and built for lasting change.
Financial constraints should never be a reason a girl or woman can’t play sport. Every day, we receive messages from teams and athletes struggling to afford basic resources—from equipment to travel costs. Historically, women’s sport has been underfunded, and many young athletes lose out on opportunities because they can’t afford to compete. We are changing this through grants for grassroots teams and athletes.
Her Sport has transformed how my family experiences women’s sport. Years ago, we had to record and replay women’s rugby to make it feel visible—now, thanks to Her Sport, my daughters can see sportswomen celebrated in real time. From the incredible content and brand clarity to the passion behind their work, Her Sport makes following female athletes easy and accessible. Being part of this community is truly powerful.
Aideen KelleherAs a male coach, the Her Sport workshop was a real eye-opener. It gave me a much better understanding of the challenges girls face in sport—things I hadn’t fully considered before. The insights on confidence, body image, and the impact of language have completely changed my approach. It should be obligatory that every male coach do this workshop.

At Her Sport, we believe sport is more than just a game—it’s a powerful tool for gender equality, empowerment, and opportunity. Our mission is to educate, inspire, and uplift girls and women so they can achieve their full potential.
We were founded to address the glaring underrepresentation of women in sport. The statistics are stark:
We exist to challenge these barriers and create real change through:
EducationÂ
Too many girls drop out of sport due to self-esteem issues, societal pressures, and a lack of role models. By the age of 20, 50% of girls have quit sport, and only 11% of teenage girls meet the recommended physical activity levels.
We are tackling this head-on.
Through workshops in schools, sports clubs, and businesses, we equip teenagers, parents, coaches, and teachers with the tools and confidence to challenge stereotypes, navigate barriers, and keep girls engaged in sport.
Visibility and Advocacy
One of the biggest reasons girls drop out of sport is because they don’t feel like they belong. Yet, only 10% of sports media coverage in Ireland goes to women’s sport, reinforcing their exclusion.
We are changing the narrative.
Her Sport has built a thriving digital community of over 300,000 people, where we showcase female role models, celebrate achievements, and normalise women’s sport in media.
Beyond visibility, we are pushing for systemic change. Our recommendations to the Oireachtas Committee have directly shaped national policy, forming the foundation of an Inclusivity in Sport Report that is now in motion.
Research
Long-term impact must be backed by data. Through research and data collection, we uncover deep-rooted inequalities in sport—from media underrepresentation to financial barriers preventing women from competing at the highest level.
With robust data, we ensure that every initiative is strategic, impactful, and built for lasting change.
Grants
No girl should have to stop playing sport because of financial barriers.
Historically, women’s sport has been underfunded, and many athletes struggle to afford basic resources like equipment, travel, and competition fees.

Her Sport is truly inspirational. As a 13-year-old girl who loves sports, I feel proud to be part of a community that gives women and girls the recognition they deserve. I learn so much from Her Sport’s content across Instagram and TikTok, and I talk about it every day with my friends—who I’ve even convinced to shop from the store! Thank you for making it easy to follow women’s sport and for everything you do to highlight our achievements. It means the world.
